Common questions
Does the calculator include nights and weekends?
Yes, for resident doctors. Turn on rota pay and enter your average night hours and how often you work weekends. For consultants and SAS doctors, add extra programmed activities and your on-call supplement.
How is less than full-time pay worked out?
Enter your average weekly hours below 40. Basic pay and allowances are paid pro rata, and you get the £1,000 LTFT allowance.
What is a programmed activity?
A block of work, usually four hours, in a consultant’s or SAS doctor’s job plan. Ten PAs is full time. Extra PAs are each paid at a tenth of basic pay.
